About Centre Academy
Very. Our students regularly achieve their potential. At CA London, for example, university-bound students have a 100 percent A-C pass level at GCSE in English. In fact, we’ve achieved this in three consecutive years. Our Vocational Life Skills students go on to college or other forms of higher education following their time with us, time that has included extended work experience and strong life skills support.
At CA East Anglia, our reading and literacy programs have had tremendous impacts on our students. For example, 53 percent of our most senior students last year gained one year or more in word reading; over 60 percent made equal gains in reading comprehension; and some of these students—some 26 percent—gained more than two years in comprehension during a single academic year.
We are especially proud of our students who have undertaken the High School Diploma course. Here’s why: we have never had a a Diploma graduate who has not gone directly to university. Over the years, Centre Academy graduates have earned places at the University of London, Oxford Brookes University, the University of Edinburgh, Middlesex University, Plymouth University, Roehampton University, Napier Edinburgh, Westminster University, just to name a few.
That said, the best measurement of the success of the Centre Academy Schools is reflected in the sense of accomplishment that our students have. As they learn and as they master many of the coping strategies that will allow them to succeed within both the academic and vocational contexts, their confidence increases. They begin to discover their own talents and strengths and unique gifts. And in so doing, our students begin to reclaim their futures.
