CA East Anglia : Boarding and the Countryside
At Centre Academy East Anglia , students have the opportunity of becoming part of an extended family. Learning to live and share with others, becoming more self-reliant or just relaxing and playing with friends after a busy day enriches the lives of even our youngest boarders and, of course, our day students as well.
Students at CA East Anglia profit from the same academic programs traditionally associated with the Centre Academy Schools, while also enjoying superb pastoral care through the Head of Care and the Care Staff. The result? A safe and secure environment that caters to the whole child.
Parents will want to know that:
-
CA East Anglia is safe and secure at the edge of a small, rural village, surrounded by fields and friendly neighbours
-
Weekly or flexi boarding is offered. Most of our pupils are weekly boarders (children are collected each Friday at 3.20pm and return either Sunday evening or Monday morning before classes begin)
-
Our Care Staff liaise closely with parents, for peace of mind that your child is healthy, happy and thriving
-
All Care Staff members are fully trained in first aid
-
We are registered with the local doctor and health practice
-
Within the boarding department, the care staff team supports pupil learning and achievement in areas such as organisation, independence and responsibility
-
Bedrooms are clean, cosy and cheerfully decorated
-
Homesickness is rare and short-lived, but always treated with T.L.C.
Children will want to know that:
-
Boarding at CA East Anglia is like home away from home
-
You can keep a small pet in our pet shed
-
You can bring your bike
-
The food is great!
-
There's always someone there for you
-
It's lots of fun, with activities like film and tuck night and go-karts
-
Children's sitting rooms are warm and comfy and perfect for relaxing, hobbies or just chatting with friends
-
You have your own 'space' and your privacy is always respected
CA East Anglia is set in a small rural village 20 minutes from Bury St Edmunds and 30 minutes from Cambridge by car, and only one hour from London by train. The campus comprises a variety of elegant classroom buildings, excellent boarding facilities and 10 acres of lawns and playing fields—in short, the ideal setting for extensive sports and activities programs. Students enjoy competing against other schools in football, cricket, netball, hockey and cross-country running, and additional activities embrace horse riding, sailing and shooting. We are also particularly proud of our programs in music, drama and art.
